My mother’s simple salad dressing – My Smokin’ Hot Mom!

In case you haven’t heard yet, I’ve just launched my new program, the 21 Day Smokin’ Hot Mom Challenge! I’m kicking it off with a free teleclass: The 7 Steps to being a Smokin’ Hot Mom! You can reserve your spot in the free call here, and learn more about the 21 Day SHM Challenge here.

Out went the newsletter to announce my new program, and who should call to see if she could  sign up?…

MY MOM!!!!

I love that!

So, I wanted to show you my smokin’ hot mom, and tell you why she is smokin’ hot!

  • My mom is fearless, she’s a total adventurer and loves life.
  • She was way ahead of the curve regarding fresh healthy food and yoga.
  • She has followed her passions and created two powerful programs that support mothers (see, I come by it naturally)! She founded the Hanen Early Language Parent Program and The First Three Years.
  • My mom is deeply loving and sees the good in all things.
  • She’s sourced by the earth and the love that surrounds her.

Now, why would my mother want to be in my 21 Day Smokin’ Hot Program if she’s already so Smokin’ Hot? Well, just like the rest of us moms, she often puts her own needs last. She doesn’t always prioritize herself. She needs support to make self-care a reality in her everyday life.

Giving and being there for others is in the very nature of being a mother. We love to give and see those we love thrive. But there needs to be a balance, and sometimes we need a little help to tilt the scale back in our direction.

Hmmmm, I didn’t intend on writing all that when I sat down to give you my mom’s great and simple salad dressing. I guess that little love letter to my mom just slipped out. But it’s true.

So, without further ado:

Ayala’s Simple Salad Dressing:

This is the salad dressing my mom made throughout my childhood. I still love it!

  • 2/3 cups extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup tarragon vinegar (you can substitute freshly squeezed lemon juice as well, but my mom’s standard is tarragon vinegar)
  • 1/8 -1/4 teaspoon of dijon mustard
  • 1 clove freshly & finely grated garlic (small clove for a light garlic taste and large clove for a big garlic taste) My mom uses a microplane (fine grater) to grate her superb garlic, which she grows herself
  • freshly ground pepper
  • pinch of sea salt

Mix everything in a jar or blender and serve on any salad.

Love and health,

Nina
