Honeyed Walnuts – the easiest sweet-treat ever!

If you read my last blog, you might have noticed that I recently bought twenty pounds of honey!

You may be wondering “What the heck are you going to do with 20 lbs of honey!”

Well, I use honey for baking, for raw deserts and for medicinal purposes.

But the current, most popular use of our new “rough/raw” honey is Honeyed Walnuts.

There have been numerous sweet snack attacks in our house where I find my husband, my kids, and me taking fresh walnut halves and dipping them into the rough honey.

It’s that simple, and it couldn’t be tastier. It’s what my cousin Sharon calls More-ish, which means it’s so good it makes you want more. However, our Honeyed Walnuts are nutrient dense (raw honey is a superfood, walnuts are packed with protein and healthy omega oils), just a few will leave you sweetly satisfied.

I served my Honeyed Walnuts at a mom & kids book group recently. (We just read Fish by L.S. Mathews – recommended but intense young-persons book). Both mom and kids liked the book and loved the nuts!

Honeyed Walnuts:

  • Walnut Halves
  • Raw Honey

Dip Walnut into honey and Enjoy!

Yum! Coincidentally, this week I’ve really enjoyed snacking on pecan halves sandwiched together with a bit of mellow raw honey – good with plain pecans, but truly great if gently warmed with some chai-inspired spices (eg. cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger,…). Nutty, spicy, and not *too* sticky!
